As previously discussed in past Mitsubshi Posts, Gov. Perdue announced today, officially, that Mistubishi Power Systems, a Fortune 150 company, will be taking 119 acres at the mega site, the 1500 acre site in Pooler just off Dean Forest Road.
We should see some benefit relatively quickly. Construction will begin this December, with hiring starting in January and a planned opening Fall 2010.
It's great news to have the $300+million investment & 500 jobs. Initially, the positions will be mainly high paying engineering jobs. The bigger news is that our state government is being flexible & open to projects that would not utilize the entire 1500 acres....hopefully keeping us in the running for other projects.
